Björk performed in her first solo concert in Iceland in six years in Laugardalshöll concert hall in Reykjavík yesterday. The concert marks the beginning of a world tour to promote her new album Volta.

The legendary singer entered the stage in a golden costume and wished everyone “happy Easter.” Later she explained to her audience that she was a bit nervous because this was her first concert of the Volta tour. Icelandreview.com reports.

Björk performed both older hits and songs from her new album, accompanied by a ten-piece female brass section dressed in neon colors.

Antony Hegarty of Antony and the Johnsons joined Björk on stage for one song and sang a duet with her about “the flame of desire.”

Björk dedicated her last song to the Faroe Islands and Greenland and encouraged them to “declare independence” from Denmark, singing “raise your flag higher, higher.”

Afterwards she told her audience to “dance all night” to the electro-pop band Hot Chip from London, England, which held an independent concert after Björk left the stage.
