The new Icelandic film Hross í oss (Of Horses and Men), directed by Benedikt Erlingsson, which is set to premiere in Iceland on August 28, will participate in the international film festival in San Sebastian in Spain.
Hross í oss was chosen to compete in the category New Directors category. The winning prize is EUR 50,000 (ISK 8 million, USD 66,000), mbl.is reports.
The film features love and drama surrounding horses and men in the countryside. “Tales of fate from the countryside, seen through the eyes of a horse,” a press releases states.
Benedikt also wrote the screenplay. Producers Friðrik Þór Friðriksson and Christoph Thoke partly used crowd funding to finance the project.
